BFGoodrich Named Official Tire of Crandon International Raceway
Historic Barn Being Restored as Well
BFGoodrich was named the official tire of Crandon International Raceway last week, giving the legendary All-Terrain T/A tire a pretty fitting present for its 40th birthday.
Crandon, the home of the Off-Road World Championship, has operated the signature event for 47 years. Its new partnership with BFGoodrich will pay dividends as early as next month, when attendees to the Off-Road World Championship will have the opportunity to visit the remodeled Crandon Barn, a historic structure that serves as the racetrack’s headquarters. Crandon Barn, which will also be known as the BFGoodrich Barn, now features a new historic display area, plus an upgraded sound system, added video displays, enhanced lighting, and refreshed décor.
According to the tire company, BFGoodrich has a long, winning history at Crandon, with a tire-industry–best 12 victories in the track’s BorgWarner/Amsoil Cup races, plus a list of Crandon World Championships. “Racing at Crandon International Raceway gets to the roots of short-course off-road racing in our country and is a venue BFGoodrich has focused on achieving success,” said Peter Calhoun, BFGoodrich motorsports marketing manager. “This is a legendary venue and there is no better place to incorporate our brand into this setting than the historic Crandon Barn.”
The 47th annual Crandon International Raceway Off-Road World Championship takes place September 2 to September 4, with a list of attractions in addition to the racing action.
