#TENSEMA16: Foutz Motorsports Ford F-150 Raptor Headed to SCORE Baja 1000

Ford will return to the SCORE Baja 1000 in November using a Ford Performance F-150 Raptor piloted by race veteran Greg Foutz, the company announced today. In advance of the Race, which takes place November 16-20, Ford will show off the truck at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show this week.
Built by Foutz Motorsports, the Baja-bound Raptor looks to be the same rig Foutz and company piloted in the 2016 Best in the Desert racing series. We rode along with the company during the Mint 400, where their Ford Performance-supported baby took class honors.
Mirroring the changes made to the truck for Best in the Desert, the SCORE Raptor will feature upgraded LED lighting, a Chromalloy safety cage, racing seats and harnesses, and a puncture-resistant fuel cell. Foutz Motorsports also custom-tuned the factory suspension, compensating for the added weight of the racing bits.
Ford’s history at Baja includes a chapter in 2008, when a first-generation SVT Raptor R driven by Foutz won Third Place it its class, and before that, the company ran its F-Series Super Duty through the grueling off-road race. Other desert racing legends include the first Bronco, which took top honors in the 1968, 1969, 1971, and 1972 runnings of the Baja 1000.
