Nissan Announces “Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition” for Rogue SUV
Company Will Give Away Tickets to Movie Premiere In Sweepstakes
Nissan premiered a television commercial for its 2017 Rogue today, which featured elements from the upcoming film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Nissan will be one of five automakers partnering on the film, and it will produce a limited-edition Rogue to commemorate the tie-in.
While we haven’t seen the “Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition” in full, we have seen its commemorative badge, and we know a little about it. It will be revealed at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, and it was designed in conjunction with Lucasfilm. The commemorative badge pays homage to the movie franchise, and thankfully, the badge isn’t as clunky as the package name.
Also included with each Nissan Rogue One will be a limited-edition fullsize replica of a Death Trooper helmet, which will be numbered. Such a thing could become a collector’s item among Star Wars fanatics, so those who buy the Rogue One would do well to keep the helmet in a safe place.
The new Rogue television commercial, called “Battle Tested,” furthers the tie-in. It features a 2017 Rogue SL driving through a Star Wars battle scene, highlighting the Rogue’s active safety features, its panoramic moonroof, and Nissan Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. The ad is high on camp, but it’s still fun to watch.
In addition to the vehicle and the advertisement, there’s also the Nissan Ultimate Access Sweepstakes, which started on Monday and will go till November 27. Guests can enter online for a chance to attend the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story premiere in Hollywood through the Nissan USA consumer site.
We’ll be introduced to the Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition in a few weeks at the LA Auto Show, so stay tuned.
