2008 Hyundai Tucson on Top-10 Back-To-School value list for new cars
September 10, 2008
Kelley Blue Book (KBB) released its top 10 listings for new and used cars for the back-to-school season, and the 2008 Hyundai Tucson made the cut. The lists are composed of cars that have been deemed an excellent value, yet are safe, practical, and maybe even fun. The cutoff price for the new cars list is at $18,000, and for used cars the price is $12,000. All values used for the 20 vehicles are based off KBB's values.
That the Hyundai Tucson made the list is not surprising to Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for KBB: "There are so many options these days," he says, "in both the new- and used-car realm, for safe, fun and affordable back-to-school rides. Hyundai offers vehicles that are better built and better equipped than ever before, and more importantly, they include potentially life-saving standard safety features at prices that parents and students will find difficult to beat."
The 2008 Tucson has standard safety features such as active front head restraints, electronic stability control, and six airbags. Entertainment options include XM Satellite Radio, and an auxiliary audio input allowing use of a portable music player.
Other notable SUV names making the list are the Dodge Caliber and Mazda Tribute. The complete list for both lists can be found below.
