Ford Escape and Ford Flex Help Blue Oval Take Larger Share of Canadian Market

For the first time in three years, Ford of Canada has recognized three consecutive months of market-share growth, thanks to an all-around effort by Ford's many brands and models. The Ford Escape maintains its crown as the best-selling small SUV in Canada, while recognizing a sales increase of 7% in January.

The Canadian-built Ford Flex, which was awarded the title of "Best New CUV" for the price range of $35,000 to $60,000 by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, saw its best month of sales since its launch in June 2008. Sales of the F-150 also helped Ford get through January. Other notable sales figure increases includes the 22% increase of the Mercury Grand Marquis and the 300% increase of the Lincoln Town Car.
Though Ford of Canada's overall sales numbers are down by 14.1% across the board compared to last year, Ford expects to be well positioned for the future thanks to the upcoming introductions of seven new vehicles over the next six months.
