2010 Nissan Cube Adds Features, Costs a Bit More

Zach GaleNov 20, 2009
Pricing for the base 2010 Nissan Cube remains unchanged from the 2009 model, but opt for the S, SL, or Krom trims and you'll be paying a bit more than last year.

For 2010, the S model sees a $340 price increase, but comes with a number of useful upgrades including steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Radio Data System, six speakers (up from four), and speed-sensitive volume control. $14,710 will get you into the driver's seat of this asymmetrical boxy compact, or $15,750 for a Cube 1.8 S.
The 1.8 SL trim is also $340 more than it was in 2010 at $17,850, but this year Sapphire Black is an optional color. The high-end Krom edition gets a $750 price increase, though this year a 4.3-in. color audio display with USB connectivity and RearView Monitor is standard. Nissan's Intelligent Key and a Push Button Ignition also are now part of the Krom package. For $20,870, you'd really have to want a car as boldly styled as the Cube, but the pricing is comparable to that of the Scion xB and Kia Soul.

All Cubes are powered by a 122-hp 1.8L four-cylinder engine mated to a CVT or six-speed manual transmission. In October, the Scion xB sold 1782 units (with a much higher base price than the other two), Kia sold 2063 Souls, and Nissan sold 2097 Cubes.

All Cube prices include a $720 destination fee.
