Toyota Donates 2010 Tundra to Progressive Agriculture Safety Day Program

The Progressive Agriculture Safety Day Program now has a new set of wheels, and a long bed with bed cover, courtesy of Toyota. The Japanese automaker recently donated a 2010 Tundra Double Cab to the program, replacing a well-used Chevrolet Astro van with almost 200,000 miles on the clock. Program specialist Bernard Geschke will be driving the new Tundra.
“The van served us well, but it was worn out. The Tundra is a wonderful replacement, and with the long box and bed cover, we actually can haul more, larger props, and displays than we would with the van,” said Geschke. “We no longer will have to rent a vehicle to transport our large displays to events such as the Farm Progress Show and Husker Harvest Days.”

The Tundra will be driven about 12,000 miles per year, transporting staff and supplies to farm safety training events, farm shows, and other farm safety education opportunities. In 2010, the PASDP is expected to hold 385 Safety Day events and reach more than 85,000 people.
