Recall Alert: 2006-07 Honda Ridgeline

Benson Kong
Jan 11, 2010
The NHTSA’s latest recall campaign affects the 2006-07 Honda Ridgeline, and it involves a wiring harness connector for the HVAC blower motor. The connector in question is located in the front passenger’s footwell, and if it is accidentally kicked, the connector terminal may overheat and cause the wiring insulation or connector to melt. Once melted, a short circuit or even a fire may be imminent. One fire has been reported out of the 76,000 trucks that are eligible for recall.

To remedy the problem, Honda will inspect the wiring harness and replace it if it has been damaged. All recalled Ridgelines will have a protective cover installed over the wiring harness.
For immediate action, 2006-07 Ridgeline owners may contact Honda at 800-999-1009 or the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236. The NHTSA Campaign ID Number and Action Number are 10V001000 and PE09008, respectively.
