First 2011 Kia Sorento Sold to Chick-fil-A Founder S. Truett Cathy
The first retail sale of a 2011 Kia Sorento was made to Chick-fil-A founder and noted auto collector S. Truett Cathy. After taking a personal tour of Kia's new West Point, Georgia plant where the new Sorento is built, Cathy said he "just wanted to have the first one off the line." The CUV will be put on display at Chick-fil-A's corporate headquarters.
"While I am excited about adding this new Spicy Red Sorento to my collection of new and antique cars, I also am pleased to know that this manufacturing facility will help with the employment and economic growth in our region," said Cathy. "And I can't wait to test it out with all its gadgets and special features."
Cathy's Sorento was personally delivered as part of a special ceremony held at Chick-fil-A headquarters in College Park, Georgia, which is just over an hour's drive from West Point.
