Ram Brand to Continue Hall Brothers Racing Monster Truck Partnership
Chrysler's racing partnership with the Hall Brothers Racing monster truck team started in 2002 with Dodge and now the Ram brand will continue the alliance into the new decade. Hall Brothers Racing currently operates the Raminator, a monster truck based on the 2006 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty that sits 10 feet tall and weighs 10,300 pounds. Hall Brothers Racing has won 14 monster truck championships since 1987.
"We intend to give the Ram 1500, which is already the most award-winning new Ram ever, and the new Ram H.D., the Motor Trend Truck of the Year, some more awards . . . some monster truck championships," says Mark Hall, six-time Monster Truck Racing Association Driver of the Year.
The Raminator features a supercharged 9.3-liter Hemi engine that runs on methanol alcohol and produces more than 2000 horsepower. Monstrous 66-inch tires decimate junked cars while special exterior effects like smoke-snorting nostrils and strobing red eyes provide visual entertainment. The truck primarily competes in MTRA and U.S. Hot Rod Association Monster Jam events.
In addition to the Raminator, Hall Brothers Racing also runs the Raminator #2 and Rammunition monster trucks. The next Ram monster trucks are expected to be based off the new 2011 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty.
