Ford Enjoys Strong F-150 SVT Raptor Demand, 6.2-Liter V-8 Coming Soon
The F-150 SVT Raptor is arguably the factory darling of the truck community, and Ford has the orders to prove it. Higher-than-expected Raptor sales have arrived from all over the U.S., prompting the Blue Oval to produce more specialty trucks than originally intended. At the time of writing, Ford had received over 5300 orders.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the popularity of the F-150 SVT Raptor,” says Mark Grueber, marketing manager for the F-150. “Orders have exceeded our expectations.”
Ford has identified the biggest markets to be the Southwest and Texas, where the desert pre-runner-based Raptor should feel right at home. In addition to those two markets, demand is also high in Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.
While Ford is already experiencing phenomenal success with its Baja-inspired truck, the impending arrival of the 6.2-liter V-8 may send Raptor fans into a collective frenzy. The new eight-cylinder can be ordered soon and puts out a much-improved 411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque, soundly trumping the current 5.4-liter V-8’s 310 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque.
The 5.4-liter-equipped Raptor starts at $38,995, while the 6.2-liter-equipped model will be priced from $41,995.
