Infiniti has released images of the new European-market EX30d just ahead of its Geneva auto show debut.

Last week, we reported Nissan’s luxury marque would be offering diesel-powered versions of its EX and FX crossovers for the first time in Europe. Although the EX30d essentially looks the same as its gas-powered brethren, the diesel model benefits from a lightly restyled front bumper with extra air inlets.
The EX30d’s centerpiece is its in-house-developed, diesel 3.0-liter V-6 which produces 235 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Designated the V9X V-6, the EX’s engine compartment and subframe were substantially modified to accommodate the new powerplant. With its new engine and seven-speed automatic, the EX30d goes from 0-62 mph in 7.9 seconds and achieves a fuel economy of 28 combined mpg (converted from Imperial figures). CO2 emissions output is a low 0.79 pounds/mile.

The EX30d will be available in three trims and Infiniti expects that eight out of every 10 European EXs sold will be the diesel version. The FX30d will also be unveiled alongside its smaller sibling and both CUVs go on sale later this year (U.K. sales start in the summer).
