Hotly Anticipated 6.2-Liter V-8-Powered Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Hits Dealers
If you’ve had an eye on the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, we have good news. The hotly anticipated 6.2-liter V-8 option is now available at dealerships in all its 411-horsepower and 434-pound-feet of torque glory.
The 6.2-liter V-8 is a two-valve, SOHC design and the most powerful gas engine available in the half-ton pickup segment. As the base engine for the redesigned 2011 Super Duty, the SVT Raptor is the V-8’s first introduction to the F-150 lineup. It will then likely be an option for the rest of the F-150 models in 2011. The engine uses a total of 16 spark plugs, like the Hemi V-8.
While nearly 3000 customers have already preordered the 6.2-liter Raptor, we already know who will be receiving the first production model. Greg Biffle, current Roush Fenway driver in NASCAR, will take first delivery after previously experiencing the F-150 SVT Raptor R in a Best in the Desert race.
The 6.2-liter-equipped Raptor starts from $41,995, while the base 5.4-liter-equipped model is priced from $38,995 (destination included).
