Recall Alert: 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara and Equator For Overheating Garmin Nav Systems

Zach Gale –
Sep 7, 2010
Suzuki made a bit of noise a while back about providing navigation systems as standard equipment on some of its models. The move seemed like a good idea, but now the Garmin navigation systems are the cause of a recall.
2008-2010 Suzuki SX4, 2010 Suzuki Grand Vitara, and 2009-2010 Suzuki Equator
The Problem: Garmin Nuvi 750, 760, and 765 navigation systems have batteries that can overheat. Should that happen, a fire could be the result.
The Fix: Garmin technicians will replace the battery and put a spacer on top of a new battery.
Number of Vehicles Affected: 20,692.
