"Drive A Tank" Program Wants You to Enjoy Some Destructive Entertainment
Driving a high-riding truck or SUV may help you feel like you're king of the road. How does piloting a formerly active military tank sound?
If you said it sounds loud and stimulating, then Minnesota-based Drive A Tank offers a program perfect for those who need a little General George S. Patton in their lives. With the guidance of instructors, tank enthusiasts can take the helm of a decommissioned FV-433 Abbott and FV432 APC. Drivers can enjoy the feeling of navigating through a periscope and/or an open hatch. Now how many trucks or SUVs have that thrill?
Not unlike a monster truck rally, Drive A Tank offers the chance to crush a car or two beneath the tank's tracks, just like in the Hollywood movies. And if you must see the main gun in action, blank ammunition can be fired at select events, as long as hearing protection is worn.
If you're feeling extra militaristic after the tank driving, the program also familiarizes customers with small arms and firearms safety at the on-site shooting range.
