Suzuki issues a recall on 2009-2011 Suzuki Grand Vitaras with four-cylinder engines due to a defective accessory belt tensioner pulley that can cause serious problems.

The Problem: Models built with four-cylinder engines may be fitted with an accessory belt tensioner pulley, which could contain a defective tensioner spring. This part could break due to repeated stresses, potentially causing the belt to slip or fly off, possibly rendering the alternator, power steering pump, and water pump inoperative.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the tensioner pulley with a new, redesigned part free of charge. Suzuki plans on notifying owners by February 16.
Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 32,291
