2011 Frankfurt: Eterniti Hemera
British Tuner Eterniti to Debut Hemera SUV at Frankfurt. Custom Cayenne?
Obscure British tuner car company Eterniti has finally released some actual full images of its forthcoming Hemera SUV, which will debut at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show.
A close look at the roofline and general profile suggests it is most likely based on the Porsche Cayenne, but the company has not released any official specifications that would indicate the vehicle's true origins. British buff book Autocar suggests lightweight composite body panels. Which considering the further description of a "limousine-like" rear cabin, may have been necessary to keep overall weight in check.
Is it super-powered? That remains to be seen. Eterniti says the Hemera will pack 620 hp -- nearly 120 more than a 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo -- but isn't forthcoming on further technical details. The company also promises four-wheel drive, and a top end of 180 mph -- about 8 mph quicker than a stock Cayenne Turbo.
No interior photos have been provided, but the company does claim the Hermera will be packed with a "limousine-like rear cabin." From what we can tell, that consists of power reclining rear seats, a built-in refrigerator, and integrated Apple iPads for infotainment purposes.
The Hemera, which takes its name from the Greek word for day, will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week, and -- if all goes according to plan -- will actually see the light of day when production begins in London in early 2012.
