For those who haven't heard of Local Motors, here's a quick recap of the Rally Fighter:
It's a dual-purpose vehicle with ride-adjustable suspension for on- or off-road driving.
Its frame is hand-built from tubular steel and features an independent double A-arm front suspension with detachable stabilizer bars and long-travel coil-over shock absorbers. Rear suspension is a four-link design featuring a solid axle. Front suspension travel is 18 inches and rear travel is 20 inches. It also has power rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes (13-inch up front and 13.7-inch rear) on a six-lug pattern. The suspension is height-adjustable for off-road or street driving. For street-driving, it rides on 265/50R-20-size tires, while 275/70R-17 tires are used for off-road driving.
The Rally Fighter is powered by a GM-sourced 6.2-liter V-8, which produces 430 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque, hooked to an automatic transmission that feeds the rear axle.
It rides on a 115-inch wheelbase (almost three inches longer than the current Camaro) and is 189 inches in overall length (about an inch longer than today's Mustang). Track is 69.5 inches wide. Vinyl wraps replace paint for their durability and weight savings.

The Build Experience includes a six-night stay at a local resort and also offers breakfast and dinner vouchers valid at the resort's restaurants. Local Motors provides shuttle service between its factory and the resort, as well as airport transportation. Lunch, snacks, and drinks are provided while you and your friend build your Rally Fighter.
Local Motors also provides customers with free swag. After the build is finished the crew at Local Motors will train you on how to drive the Rally Fighter. Only 2000 Rally Fighters are available for the 2012 model year. It can be pre-ordered with a $5000 deposit.
