Canadian Auto Workers President Ken Lewenza, is worried that GM will move some production of the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain to its Spring Hill, Tennessee plant. The plant is scheduled to reopen as part of a proposed labor settlement with the UAW. GM officials have been mum on what it plans to build in Spring Hill.

Lewenza is worried because he found out in newspapers that GM will move primary Impala production to the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant in Michigan, from its current Oshawa, Ontario plant. The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville, Tennessee, cited state economic development officials earlier this week that GM might produce the Equinox and Terrain in the Spring Hill plant when it reopens.
GM representatives won't confirm or deny any rumors about future production plans, but Lawenza said he intends to ask GM to assure the crossovers' primary production will remain at GM's CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ontario. The automaker may use Spring Hill to catch up production of the popular Equinox and Terrain, which have short supply lead times of 33 days and 42 days respectively.
