BMW X6 Trophy Truck Hits The Scene With Raptor In Its Sights
The BMW X6 is not the first 'truck' to come in to mind when one thinks of desert running. Soft-roading X6s would literally be left in the dust when put up against Mopar's Ram Runner and Ford's F-150 SVT Raptor. That hasn't stopped All German Motorsport from dreaming big though; AGM has teamed up with Jimco to create the AGM-Jimco X6 SCORE Trophy Truck.
OK, so technically this custom-built trophy truck has as much in common with the X6 as the X6 does with an M3. The AGM-Jimco X6 SCORE Trophy Truck (X6 TT from henceforth) looks similar to your run-of-the-mill X6, thanks to its custom-built fiberglass shell, and both feature eight-cylinders in a 'V' configuration -- that's pretty much where the similarities end. Otherwise, the X6 TT rides on a custom chassis, sports a 725-750-hp custom-built 4.4-liter V-8 that produces 400 lb-ft of torque. Since Trophy Truck Rules specify the engine has to be at least based on a production block, it's a safe assumption this isn't your average Joe's pumped-up LS1. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed sequential transmission.
According to the X6 TT's driver Armin Schwarz, planning for the truck began back in 2009. Schwarz and his crew plan on finalizing testing as the X6 TT makes its debut at this year's Baja 1000 in November.
