Nissan Recalling 2011 Juke due to Turbo Trouble

Christian SeabaughDec 15, 2011
Nissan today announced that it is recalling the 2011 Juke for another turbocharger issue.

Nissan Juke Turbocharger Boost Sensor Bracket Recall
The Problem: Certain 2011 model year Jukes may have a defect with the turbocharger boost sensor bracket. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the sensor bracket may separate from the air inlet tube due to a defective weld. If the bracket comes off, the Juke could stall without warning, which the NHTSA says increases the risk of a crash. Nissan told The Detroit News that its testing hasn’t had the issue crop up in Jukes in the United States, but has seen the issue appear in Jukes overseas.
The Fix: Nissan will start the safety recall on or by January 9, 2012. Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will check the lot number on the air inlet tube and replace it if necessary. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261 if they have any questions.
Number of Vehicles Affected: 28,294 vehicles produced between April 9, 2010 and May 12, 2011.
