Mercedes-Benz Announces Pricing For ML63 AMG, Starts at $95,865
Pricing has been announced for the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, which is slated to arrive at dealerships next month. Mercedes' performance version of the M-Class will start at $95,865, including the $875 destination charge. That amount of money gets you a midsize luxury SUV with stop-start tech and 518 hp to play with.
The ML63 packs Mercedes' twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8, which produces 518 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. That number is up 15 hp and 44 lb-ft from the previous model, while Mercedes says the vehicle itself is 99 lbs lighter. Add the available AMG Performance package, and output jumps to 550 hp and 560 lb-ft, thanks to an increase in boost from 14.5 psi to 18.9 psi. Mercedes-Benz estimates the standard ML63 can do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, while the one with the AMG Performance package will hit 60 mph a tenth quicker at 4.6 seconds. Despite the slight speed advantage, the AMG Performance package holds over the standard model, Mercedes maintains that both achieve the same manufacturer-estimated 16 mpg combined.
Standard equipment for the ML63 AMG includes illuminated AMG stainless steel door sill guards, brushed stainless AMG sport pedals, 10-way adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, power liftgate, and multi-color ambient lighting. Also standard is Mercedes' COMAND infotainment system with hard drive-based navigation and seven-inch display and central control knob, along with a Harman/Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system with HD radio, Bluetooth streaming capability, and USB port.
The 2012 ML63 AMG goes on sale in March.
