Chrysler issued a recall due to rear lower control arms in certain 2004-2005 Jeep Liberty SUVs that are subject to excessive corrosion. In a prepared statement, Chrysler stated the recall will affect vehicles "sold or currently registered in salt belt states as defined by the NHSTA."

The Problem: When the rear lower control arm in the suspension system could fracture after long periods of expose to road salt. The fractured component may affect vehicle control and lead to a crash.
