Audi Q5 Hybrid Caught Testing with New Grille
Spied new grille design on Audi Q5
Yes, yes, we know we brought you spy shots of the new Q5 just last week. But this latest round gives a clearer look at the new grille design, sans clever camo tape, as well as showing the hybrid variant testing. This black test mule is so caked with dirt and mud you can barely make out, the discreet "hybrid" badge on the front fender.
It's believed the engine for the hybrid model will be the brand's widely utilized 2.0-liter gasoline turbo four-cylinder, much like the A6 and Europe-only A8 hybrid models. The U.S. is expected to get the hybrid model and, as we previously reported, the U.S.-spec Q5 TDI will likely be getting the 3.0-liter V-6 TDI from the larger Q7, rather than the 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI of the European model, to keep it from competing from the hybrid, which the four-cylinder TDI reportedly out-performs from a fuel economy standpoint.
Whether you're looking for economy or mounds of tasty diesel torque, it looks like Audi will have you covered in 2013.
