Ford Raises $1 Million for High Schools in April Through Drive One 4 UR School Program
Innovative Program Helps Raise Money for Budget-Strapped Schools
In a win-win for dealerships and schools, Ford's Drive One 4 UR School helps participating high schools raise up to $6000 for extracurricular activities, with the company donating $20 for each completed test drive. During the month of April, Ford raised a record $1 million from programs held at 300 schools across the country. Since its inception in 2007, the program has raised more than $10 million at 3000 events.
The program is one of the most effective test-drive programs Ford has ever done, with 68 percent of participants being non-Ford owners, and favorable opinion for the brand going from 66 to 84 percent after the experience among program participants. Although events can be held anywhere, Ford encourages participating dealers to hold events on-site at the participating high school campus for maximum effectiveness and positive community public relations. Dealers have been very enthusiastic about the response, and participant follow-up visits to dealerships, with many visitors having never owned a Ford product.
