Three-Day Diesel Event Features Sled Pulls, Drag Racing, and Dyno Competition
If you're a fan of diesel performance and live near Colorado (or are willing to drive there), then get ready for ATS Diesel Performance's 2012 Diesels on the Mountain and Truck Fest, which will be held August 3-5 at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Brighton, Colorado. Competitors from across the U.S. and Canada will be at the event to compete for top honors in sled pulling, drag racing, a dyno competition, and a show-n-shine competition.
The sled pull/ truck pull at the fairgrounds will be featured Friday, August 3. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and all competitors and spectators are invited. Classes range from stock trucks to heavily-modified purpose-built pullers. The sled pull will be sanctioned by the NSPA (National Sled Pullers Association) and will feature NSPA's pulling sled, which is one of the newest and latest-technology sleds in the country.
On Saturday, August 4, ATS will host a dyno competition and open house BBQ at the company's Arvada facility. ATS will open the doors at 8 a.m. with dyno runs beginning soon after. Different classes will be available to competitors who enter for a dyno session. Classes will be structured similarly to those for the sled pulls and will provide participants a chance to win prizes for trucks at all levels of modification.
On Sunday, August 5, the Truck Fest heads to the Bandimere Speedway for drag racing. Other events for Sunday include a vendor midway, rock crawling, ATV racing, and show-n-shine competition starting at 8 a.m. Many of the country's fastest trucks are expected to be in attendance for the quarter-mile competition. Competition and spectator opportunities are open to everyone. Trucks interested in drag racing competition are required to have either upward-firing exhaust stacks, or use a temporary exhaust turn-up pipe for this year's racing to prevent fogging of the timing system.
