2013 Volkswagen Touareg, Tiguan Models to Get 4-Year SiriusXM Traffic Subscription
Models with Navigation to Include Traffic Data
No, Volkswagen isn't giving you a free ride on your Howard Stern fix for four years. The four-year freebie is for SiriusXM's Traffic service offering live updates on your route. The plan comes standard in select Touareg and Tiguan models equipped with the brand's RNS 510 and RNS 850 touch-screen navigation units.
Tiguan models equipped with the RNS 510 also get SiriusXM's Travel Link package, which includes fuel prices, weather reports, sports updates and movie listings. The traffic service is normally a $3.99 per month add-on to the radio service, with the bundled Traffic and Travel Link package going for $5.99.
Like all new Volkswagens equipped with satellite-ready receivers, a three-month trial radio subscription is included with a new car purchase.
SiriusXM and Hyundai also recently announced that pre-owned models sold at Hyundai dealerships would get a three-month trial subscription to the satellite radio service on models equipped with a satellite radio receiver, regardless of brand.
