Recall: 2010 Jeep Wrangler Transmission Skid Plate Fire Hazard

Edward A. SanchezMay 21, 2012
The Problem: 2010 Model Jeep Wrangler models equipped with an automatic transmission can collect debris between the transmission skid plate and catalytic converter, which could potentially result in a vehicle fire.
The Fix: Chrysler will replace the skid plate with a skid bar that is less likely to accumulate debris on affected models free of charge. Owners may contact Chrysler at 800-853-1403 or NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.
Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 67,872 vehicles built prior to July 14, 2010.
