2013 Range Rover Sport Line Adds Supercharged and GT Limited Editions
Red Brembo Brakes, New Color Combinations Highlight Updates
Since its introduction in the U.S. market for the 2006 model year, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport has occupied a unique place in the company's lineup, offering something slightly smaller and sportier than the flagship Range Rover model, but larger than the LR2 and more luxurious than the LR4. The addition of a naturally-aspirated and supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine in 2009 added to the appeal of the Sport line. Despite that, the Range Rover Sport is clearly getting stale and for 2013, Land Rover is making a few changes to address that, starting with the introduction of Supercharged and GT Limited edition models.
For those customers that like to show off their high-performance braking hardware, the 2013 Supercharged Limited Edition model features red Brembo calipers beneath a new five-spoke wheel design. For those that still want the braking performance, but don't have a compelling need to share it with the world, the Brembos are also available in a low-key black finish at no extra charge.
Inside, customers can specify contrasting dark dash trim with light seating materials, or vice-versa. Also available on all Sport models for 2013 is a towing package which includes a hitch receiver, electrical harness and variable rear differential lock.
The Supercharged Limited Edition can be spotted by a red-letter "Sport" badge on the tailgate, and embroidered floor mats. A carbon-fiber veneer package is also available to give the interior a contemporary, high-performance look.
For those that want a more aggressive performance package, the GT Limited Edition features an extended rear roof spoiler, unique rear chrome exhaust outlets, 20-inch black five-spoke wheels and paddle shifters. An 825-watt, 17-speaker Harmon Kardon LOGIC7 sound system is also included in the GT package.
Both the Supercharged and GT Limited Editions will be offered in Santorini Black and Fuji White paint. 300 of the Supercharged Limited Edition and 450 of the GT being offered in the U.S. market in Santorini Black, and 200 of the Supercharged and 300 of the GT in Fuji White.
