2013 Ford F-150 Limited First Look
Fully Loaded: Ford's Half-Ton Line Gets New Flagship Trim
It seems American's can't get enough of luxury trucks. Between the GMC Sierra Denali, Ram Laramie Longhorn, and the several levels of upscale trim on the Ford F-Series (Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum), there's no shortage of leather-lined haulers on the market. Yet, there's apparently still room for more, something Ford is willing to prove with the 2013 F-150 Limited, a model that, to paraphrase Henry Ford's timeless statement, "You can have it any way you want, as long as it's fully-loaded."
The only option beside paint color is the choice between two- and four-wheel-drive. Under the hood, the Limited comes exclusively with Ford's popular 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6. Standard equipment on the inside includes Sync with MyFord Touch, navigation with Sirius Travel Link, upgraded Sony sound with USB ports and an SD card reader, red and black full-grain leather upholstery, and aluminum and piano-black interior trim. The seatbacks get a unique "Limited" badge, with the driver's side getting a two-position memory setting, and both front seats getting standard heating and cooling. And not to neglect rear-seat passengers, the rear seat positions are heated as well.
On the outside, the Limited can be spotted by raised-letter badging on the bedsides, chrome mesh-style grille, and unique 22-inch wheels. The grille surround, wheel arches, and front and rear bumpers are all matched to the exterior paint color. The Limited also features segment-first standard HID headlights with the F-150 logo incorporated into the light housing. The only available body style for the Limited trim is the 4-door SuperCrew configuration.
Unlike the original Model T, you can get the F-150 Limited in three hues: Ruby Red Metallic, Tuxedo Black Metallic, and White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat. Prices have not yet been announced, but considering the figure $50,000 was alluded to in the press release, don't be too surprised to see a starting price near that mark. The 2013 Ford F-150 Limited will be in showrooms in fall 2012.
