Land Rover Defender XTech Gets Back to Rugged Roots
Special Edition Features Exclusive Color, Black Roof
The Land Rover Defender may have officially exited the U.S. market in 1997, but the most iconic example of Land Rover's rugged heritage lives on in Great Britain and the rest of the world. Today, the brand is announcing the introduction of the Defender XTech edition, which brings a distinctive color scheme and trim offerings to this stalwart of the Land Rover line.
The Defender XTech edition features a contrasting Santorini Black roof, headlight housings, wheel arches and diamond-plate exterior door sills, 16-inch gloss black 'Sawtooth' alloy wheels with 16-inch Goodyear Wrangler MTR tires, and a choice of Orkney Grey or Nara Bronze, which is exclusive to the XTech edition.
Inside, the Defender XTech gets Ebony leather seating surfaces with the Land Rover Logo embossed on the headrests, with embroidered floor mats. The XTech also comes standard with air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, traction control, remote power locks and heated seats.
Available in either the two-door 90 or four-door 110 configurations, the Land Rover Defender XTech is powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel producing 266 lb-ft of torque. The XTech is on-sale now in the UK starting at #27,995 (approximately $43,445) .
