2013 Volkswagen Touareg Gets TDI Power Boost, Trim Changes
Routan Minivan Unchanged, Minor Changes for Tiguan
The 2013 Volkswagen Touareg, flagship of VW's SUV lineup, gets a 15-hp boost for the TDI turbodiesel model for 2013, bringing the total to 240, up from 225. Peak torque remains unchanged at 406 lb-ft. Other changes for the SUV include a new 18-inch Karakum wheel design for the VR6 and TDI Sport trim levels, Vavona wood trim for the Executive and Hybrid models, and LED taillights and rear license-plate light for the Hybrid.
The Tiguan compact SUV gets a standard electronic parking brake across the line, hillhold control, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, and a leather shift knob. The SE trim level gets a partial power passenger seat, and the SEL now includes a full power-adjustable passenger seat and rearview camera.
The Chrysler-based Routan minivan carries over into 2013 with no changes.
