New Chevrolet Colorado, Trailblazer Make European Debut in Moscow

We'll Get One, Not the Other

Aug 27, 2012
Following their debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show in March, the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Colorado are making their debut for the European market at the Moscow International Motor Show that opens August 29.

Both the Colorado and Trailblazer are built on a body-on-frame platform and are designed for the less-than-ideal roads commonly found in developing nations. Chevrolet has committed to re-introducing a midsize pickup to the North American market for 2014 but remains non-committal on the name, though consensus is that the Colorado moniker will return. The Trailblazer name is unlikely to make a comeback in North America, having been effectively replaced by the Traverse in 2009.
Russia is an increasingly important market for Chevrolet, which General Motors is positioning to be its global mass-market brand. Chevrolet sold 173,484 vehicles in Russia in 2011 and has sold 115,755 vehicles through July 2012.

In addition to the Trailblazer and Colorado, Chevrolet is introducing the Cruze wagon, Malibu midsize sedan, MyLink multimedia interface to the Russian market at the Moscow show.
