Audi SQ5 Exclusive Concept Paris-Bound, Gets Limited Production Run

Audi has made the Paris Motor Show the place where it will debut the SQ5 TDI in “exclusive concept” form. The concept is a special version of the SQ5 TDI that was unveiled earlier this summer, and will have a limited production run of just 50 units in Europe.
Like the SQ5 TDI, which is Audi’s first S-branded SUV and diesel-powered S vehicle, the exclusive concept will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbodiesel V-6 that produces 313 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque that peaks as low as 1450 rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic, and the concept sits 1.2 inches lower than the garden-variety Q5.
The differences between the SQ5 TDI and the exclusive variant start with the Paris crossover’s special Aral Blue crystal paint color. Inside, black Nappa leather adorns the sport seats, steering wheel, and shift knob, armrest, and dashboard, while snow white stitching offsets the all-black leather surfaces. The Alcantara headlining and sunroof shade also wear the snow white color, while the inlays are natural grain ash. The door trims and sills sport Audi exclusive badges.
Exterior side mirrors are finished in aluminum as with every S model, and HID headlights with LED daytime running lights come standard. Out back, four exhaust tailpipes are placed underneath the rear bumper.
Though just 50 units of the Audi SQ5 TDI exclusive concept will be available in Europe in the first quarter of 2013, the special-edition crossover could serve as a test to see whether consumers will bite on more luxurious and expensive Audi SUVs. How much would you pay for an ultra-low-volume car like the Audi SQ5 TDI exclusive concept?
