Prices Raised $650 on 2013 Infiniti QX56, Now Starts at $61,640
The 2013 Infiniti QX56 has been priced at $61,640 for the rear-drive model, and $64,740 for the four-wheel-drive version. Compared to the 2012 QX, those prices are up $650.
Now in its third year on the market, the current-generation QX56 has been praised for its ability to balance capability, power, and luxury. The SUV is powered by a 400-hp, 413-lb-ft 5.6-liter V-8 mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacity is rated at 8500 pounds when properly equipped, and the SUV boasts such standard features as hard drive-based navigation, Nissan's Around View Monitor, and a 13-speaker Bose premium audio system.
For 2013, the QX adds the Moving Object Detection system to the standard Around View Monitor. The model also gets standard auto-dimming side mirrors, an available Smoky Quartz exterior color, and an upgraded remote control and interface for the optional Theater Package. That package costs $3100 for 2013 (up from $2950 for the 2012 model), and includes dual seven-inch monitors, heated second-row seats, two pairs of wireless headphones, auxiliary input jacks, and remote tip-up second-row seats.
The Tire and Wheel package adds 22-inch, nine-spoke alloy wheels for $2450, up $150 from the 2012 QX. Those wheels are also included in the Deluxe Touring Package, which costs $4650 and includes climate-controlled front seats, semi-aniline leather upholstery, Mocha Burl trim, and Infiniti's Hydraulic Body Motion Control system. Tech features such as Infiniti's adaptive cruise control, Distance Control Assist, Blind Spot Warning and Intervention, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, and Intelligent Brake Assist with Forward Collision Warning systems are available through the $3000 Technology package. A split bench seat, to increase the total seating capacity to eight, is available at no charge.
Through September, Infiniti has sold 9490 QX SUVs in 2012, up 5.4 percent from the 9003 units sold in the first nine months of 2011. The 2013 Infiniti QX is on sale now; you can read about the Motor Trend long-term 2011 Infiniti QX56 here.
