Ford Reveals Trio of F-series SEMA Project Trucks
Two F-150s, one Super Duty Get the Custom Touch
The annual SEMA show is upon us once again, and of course that means tricked-out cars and trucks of all vintages and types. Within the last few years, the automotive manufacturers have been a bigger part of the show. They bring their latest vehicles to the show, often many months before they're on sale to the general public, to whet enthusiasts' appetites for their potential for modification and customization. To showcase its truck line, Ford is bringing two 2013 F-150s and one F-250 Super Duty to show to two platforms' potential in the hands of creative geniuses.
2013 Ford F-150 FX2 Super Cab EcoBoost by Truckin' Magazine
The guys at Truckin' are well known for extensively covering the truck customization scene, as well as creating some pretty wild project trucks. So it was no surprise that the publication came up with a unique interpretation of Ford's bread-and-butter truck. The Truckin' F-150 features the popular EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6 on the FX2 rear-drive trim package, lowered suspension, high-performance brakes, and an upgraded interior. Unique wheels and tires and custom racing stripe accents complete the package.
2013 Ford F-150 FX2 Super Cab by K-Daddy'z Kustomz
K-Daddy'z Kustomz, a custom paint and body shop located in Bakersfield, California, added its custom touch to a 2013 F-150 FX2 as well, but with a totally different flavor. Featuring a bright-red monochromatic paint job, 24-inch wheels and tires, and Ford's 5.0-liter V-8 with a supercharger, K-Daddy'z F-150 takes a more traditional custom truck approach. If the finished product matches the rendering, expect traditional hot-rod flames and possibly a custom chopper in the bed.
2012 Ford F-250 XLT Crew Cab by Kelderman Air Ride
Anyone who has followed the HD custom truck scene closely over the last few years has heard of Kelderman Air Ride. With its unique suspension system, Kelderman retains the capability that the Super Duty is known for, while adding a compliant ride and 8-10 inches of suspension lift. The company partnered with Tim Nicolau designs to give this big bruiser the appropriate attitude, with bright-green powdercoated components accenting its menacing black paint job.
