Icon's Dodge D200 Replica Showcases Retro Style with Massive Cummins Torque

Unique Truck Combines Classic Styling with Modern Diesel Power

Oct 29, 2012
For the 2012 SEMA Show, Icon 4x4 is aiming to one-up last year's creation, a modern take on the classic Ford Bronco. How? By going bigger -- much bigger -- and doing the same thing using the body of the 1965 Dodge D200 pickup and the chassis from a modern Ram 3500.

Big doesn't only describe the physical dimensions of the truck, but also the torque output from its custom-tuned Cummins 5.9-liter diesel engine, which was massaged by the diesel specialists at Banks Power to crank out a seriously stout 975 lb-ft of torque. Another modern-day touch is a 4.5-inch Baja 100 Chase lift kit with Fox remote reservoir shocks.
Icon's D200 rides on 37-inch BF Goodrich tires mounted on Hutchinson 17-inch Monster wheels in a matte black finish. Just so you don't get lonely out on the range or road, the truck features a JL Audio subwoofer and amp with KRC speakers and tweeters for crystal-clear sound. The upholstery features unique free-range bison leather sourced from an American Indian reservation. At this time, the Icon D200 is a one-off custom, but depending on customer demand, could be offered as a series-production model.
