Rod Hall Only Racer To Compete in Every Baja 1000
Racer Marks 45th Consecutive Baja Race, Caps Decades of Accomplishments
2005 Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee, and 21-time Baja 1000 winner Rod Hall will compete in his 45th Baja 1000 this week. In addition to his Baja 1000 wins, Hall has also won 18 Baja 500 races, and during his driving career for Dodge from 1975 to 1992, Hall achieved 35 consecutive victories, a record that still stands in the world of off-road racing. Hall is perhaps best known for being the only driver to win the overall Baja 1000 victory in a four-wheel-drive vehicle, with motorcycles usually taking the overall victory for their greater speed and agility.
The longest-sponsored driver in BFGoodrich history, Hall will run the 2012 Baja 1000 with his granddaughter Shelby Hall, competing in a Hummer H3 in the Stock Mini class with co-drivers Alex Baker and Richard Toole. Hall is famous for his saying "to finish first, you must first finish."
For the 2012 Race, Hall will be sponsored by BFGoodrich Tires, Fox Racing Shox, and MaxTrax Recovery Devices. Hall's progress during the race can be followed on Twitter and at www.rodhallracing.com.
