2013 Nissan Armada Pricing Announced
New Colors, Entertainment Options Highlight Changes
The 2013 Nissan Armada soldiers in to its eighth model year with minor changes to equipment and trim. The last major update on the SUV was in 2008, when it received a new dashboard and interior. Depending on trim, prices increase between $680 and 1060 over the 2012 model. The Armada's sole powertrain remains the 317-hp, 5.6-liter Endurance V-8 mated to a five-speed automatic, available with rear or four-wheel drive.
A new Platinum Reserve Package, on top of the already topline Platinum trim, adds 20-inch dark chrome wheels, grille, and outside mirrors, a two-tone Chocolate/Almond leather interior, and dark satin chrome interior accents. The package carries a price of $2090.
The rear seat entertainment system goes from a single 8-inch flip-down screen to two dual 7-inch headrest-mounted monitors. The rear-seat entertainment system is standard on Platinum models and optional on SV and SL trims. The 2013 Armada SV models get a standard satellite radio receiver, four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and Bluetooth hands-free calling standard. Five new exterior colors are available for the 2013 Armada: Midnight Garnet, Graphite Blue, Gun Metallic, Java Metallic, and Pearl White.
Like its pickup cousin Titan, the Armada has never represented a serious threat to the domestic brands' domination of the full-size SUV segment. The Armada sold a total of 18,331 units in 2011, with the Chevrolet Tahoe selling 80,527 models, and more than 114,000 when sales of the GMC Yukon are added. The Ford Expedition sold 40,499 units in 2012.
