2013 Ram 1500 Truck Of The Year Award Commemorated with Wrap on Chrysler Headquarters
Banner Adorns 15-Story Office Tower
Motor Trend's Truck of the Year award is a significant and coveted accolade, and automakers proudly use the distinction in advertising and product marketing. Chrysler is proud of the Ram 1500 winning the award for 2013 and has unfurled a larger-than-life banner on the side of a 15-story office tower at the company's Auburn Hills, Michigan headquarters.
The Truck of the Year award considers six criteria: Design Advancement, Engineering Excellence, Efficiency, Safety, Value, and Performance of Intended Function. Eligible vehicles must be all-new or substantially changed from the previous model year.
The Ram 1500 rose to the top of the list of contenders for its breadth of trim and powertrain offerings, its segment-first eight-speed automatic transmission, class-leading V-6 fuel economy, and unique technical features such as active grille shutters, available air spring suspension, and stop-start system. The interior also features a new, second-generation Uconnect system with mobile hotspot capability. The 2013 Ram 1500 starts at $23,585 including $995 destination charge.
