Honda Issues Massive Airbag Recall on Pilot, Odyssey Models
More than 700,000 Vehicles Affected
More than 700,000 2009-2013 model year Honda Pilot SUVs and 2011-2013 Odyssey minivans are being voluntarily recalled by Honda for potentially faulty driver-side airbags. This recall is one of the largest from Honda within the past 12 months, with only a low-beam headlight recall that was expanded to 820,000 units affecting more models.
Pilot and Odyssey models may have incorrectly installed driver-side airbag covers missing the correct number of rivets. Improperly installed covers could potentially deploy improperly, resulting in increased risk of injury in a crash. No crashes or injuries have been reported as a result of this issue.
Honda will begin notifying affected owners in mid-February. Owners of the models affected can also go to recalls.honda.com to determine if their vehicle is involved in the recall or call 800/999-1009, option 4.
748,000 2009-2013 model-year Pilot SUVs and 2011-2013 model-year Odyssey minivans.
