2014 Subaru Forester Starts at $22,820, Turbo at $28,820
Small Price Increase Over 2013 Base Models, More on Higher Trims
Subaru unveiled the next-generation of its popular Forester crossover at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, with crisper, more aggressive styling, and a new, direct-injected turbocharged engine on the high-performance XT model. As is usually the case with an all-new model, prices have increased. On the entry-level 2.5i models, the price goes up a modest $730. The gap increases the higher you move on the trim scale, with the top-of-the-line 2014 XT Touring model going for $2030 more than a comparably-equipped 2013 model.
Navigation, which was a $1000 option on the 2013 Touring trim, is standard on the 2014 model. The 2014 Forester also adds Subaru's EyeSight driver assist system as part of a $2400 option package, which bundles HID headlights and keyless access and start.
All 2014 Foresters equipped with an automatic transmission now have a CVT, which is mandatory equipment on the XT turbocharged model. 2013 Foresters all had four-speed automatic transmissions.
