Lego Land Rover Defender 110 at Almost 10,000 Votes
Your Vote Could Make it Official!
Here at Truck Trend, we're usually into the cool, objective reporting of news and developments in the truck and SUV industry, and generally do not take an activist stance relative to any particular cause or policy. But in this case, we have to say we're solidly in favor of it. "It" is a Lego version of the iconic Land Rover Defender 110 pickup. The concept has been posted on Lego's Cuusoo blog, where the vote currently stands at 9416 as of the time of this writing. What's significant about that number is that the magic threshold for a Cuusoo concept to receive official review by the Lego design team for consideration to be made into an official Lego set is 10,000. The Defender is less than 600 votes away from that critical number.
The Lego Cuusoo blog was created in 2008 to invite users to submit ideas for future Lego sets. Among the ideas submitted through the blog that have made it into series production include the Hayabusa and the "Back to the Future" DeLorean time machine. And before you motorcycle fans get too excited, the Hayabusa in discussion is the unmanned spacecraft developed by the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency which studied the asteroid Itokawa.
As we're writing this piece, the vote total has already gone up another four to 9420. Your support of this project could put the Defender 110 Lego set under your Christmas tree this winter! You can check it out at the Lego Cuusoo Blog.
