2013 New York: Wonder Woman Edition Kia Sportage
Kia Represents League of Justice's Lone Lady
If you've been following the collaboration between Kia and DC comics over the past year, you'll know that the two companies have built several show cars featuring design themes inspired by DC Comic's League of Justice characters. So far, all the characters represented have been male, but fret not, fearless feminists, the fairer sex is represented in Kia's latest Justice League concept, the Wonder Woman Sportage.
The red and blue exterior paint theme reflects Wonder Woman's outfit. Her eagle chest plate is represented by a custom grille with twin Ws for her initials, and her trademark weapon, the Lasso of Truth, represented by a gold stripe along the lower front bumper and the side of the vehicle. Her characteristic tiara is represented in a header graphic with a central star across the top of the windshield. Blue headlight lenses represent Wonder Woman's "piercing blue eyes," and the star theme is repeated with five-spoke wheels. Inside, the upholstery is inspired by her signature outfit, and the cargo area features a see-through compartment housing Wonder Woman's tiara, bracelets, and lasso of truth.
The special-edition Sportage is the seventh vehicle in the 10-month, eight-vehicle collaboration between Kia and DC Comics. A final, eighth vehicle is promised, which will represent the entire League of Justice. We can't wait.
