Tattoo Artist Corey Miller Customizes 2014 Toyota Tundra
Custom Creation Will Be Awarded at 2013 SEMA Show
We've all heard the term "in the flesh" before, sometimes used in the context of automobiles, which are generally made of sheetmetal, fiberglass, and plastic. But the term takes on a whole new meaning when an artist best known for his work on epidermis (skin) gets free rein to create a custom design for a truck.
Well-known Southern California tattoo artist Corey Miller is being given a new 2014 Toyota Tundra, which he will be customizing for the Raybestos Brake & Chassis shop as part of an online contest. Miller is well known for his dragon-motif tattoos, combining Asian mythological imagery with American creativity and attitude.
The Tundra represents the ideal canvas for Miller, because of its combination of Japanese and American heritage. Appropriately enough, and giving a hint to what the final truck will look like, the project has been dubbed "The Dragon."
Although Miller has never painted or designed for a vehicle before, he's excited and motivated by the project. In sharing his vision for the design, Miller said, "I'm thinking of a dragon peeling out...this truck is going to be gritting its teeth and screaming forward just like a dragon does - absolutely shredding it."
"The Dragon" giveaway contest will start July 1, 2013, and run through October 15, 2013. The truck will be awarded to a lucky winner at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. For more information, and to enter the contest, visit raybestosgarage.com/contest/.
