Mac's Shows Tie-Down Toughness in Moab, Suspends Jeep Wrangler
Maker of Tie-Down Straps Suspends Wrangler, Trailer from Crane
At first glance, the difference between products can seem minor. Tie-down straps are one example of a seemingly commodity product where the difference between brands would come down to color preference and price. But Mac's Tie Downs, founded and owned by Colin McLemore, wanted to offer a dramatic, visual display of the strength of his company's tie-downs.
Knowing that many Jeep and off-road enthusiasts trailer their rigs to the trail, McLemore felt there would be no better showcase of his straps' quality and durability than in Moab, Utah, during the 2013 Easter Jeep Safari.
McLemore employed a construction crane to pick up his personal Wrangler by the trailer hitch, suspended to the trailer only by his company's trusty tie-downs. His Jeep stayed suspended 20 feet in the air for five days straight, creating quite the spectacle during the week's off-roading festivities.
"I'm willing to stand behind our product," McLemore said. "I hung my personal Jeep from Mac's straps to prove that these tie-downs are tested, reliable, and worth the money." You can watch the Wrangler getting hoisted into the air in the YouTube video below.
