Chrysler Names Reid Bigland New Ram Brand CEO
Brand Management Responsibilities Re-Shuffled After Diaz Departure
After last week's unexpected departure (at least to outsiders) of Fred Diaz from CEO of Chrysler's burgeoning Ram Trucks division to serve as vice president of Nissan's divisional sales and marketing, brand and task assignments have changed in Auburn Hills. Replacing Diaz as new CEO of the Ram Brand is Reid Bigland, former CEO of the Dodge division.
A native of British Columbia, Canada, Bigland has ample experience in the truck realm, with a career starting with Western Star trucks in 1997, moving on to Freightliner, which culminated in his title of president of Freightliner Custom Chassis in 2005. He served as president and CEO of Chrysler Canada from 2006 to 2011, he was appointed CEO of the Dodge Brand. He will retain his current title and responsibilities as head of U.S. sales for Chrysler Group LLC.
Timothy Kuniskis, former head of the Fiat brand in North America, will replace Bigland as Dodge division CEO, with Jason Stoicevich taking Kuniskis' former role at Fiat. Bruno Cattori, a 25-year Chrysler veteran, will assume Diaz' former position as CEO of Chrysler de Mexico.
