"Braving Baja, 1000 Miles to Glory" Kicking Off with Dinner, Special Show
Los Angeles' world-famous Petersen Automotive Museum, known for its collection and display of all things automotive, is kicking off a special off-road exhibition that will run from May 4 through September 2, featuring historic and significant off-road vehicles that were some of the pioneers of the Baja 1000 competition.
Presented by American Honda Motorcycle Division, "Braving Baja, 1000 Miles to Glory" begins with a special dinner featuring Dave Ekins and Bill Robertson Jr., who will be honored for their timed run in Baja 50 years ago in a Honda CL72 Scrambler motorcycle. Off-Road legend Parnelli Jones will also be honored at the dinner. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased online at the exhibition Web site.
The official public kickoff to the exhibition takes place on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The special show is included in the regular museum admission price, and will be open to owners or drivers of off-road vehicles that would like to exhibit. Vendors will be on-site as part of the festivities as well.
Event and exhibit information, including vendor registration and dinner ticket purchase information, can be found at www.bravingbaja.org.
