Isuzu Adds New Accessories for D-Max in Europe

Cousin of Colorado Adds Style to Substance

Apr 23, 2013
One of Isuzu's last models sold in the U.S. among its consumer line was the i-Series trucks, the i-290 and i-370, barely disguised twins of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. But the hip, tech-inspired nomenclature could not save them from the same fate that later befell its stateside siblings. But the Isuzu pickup lives on elsewhere in the world in the form of the 2013 Isuzu D-Max, now going on its second global generation, and coincidentally, sharing a good deal of hardware and design with the global Chevrolet Colorado, a variation of which we'll see in the U.S. soon.

To commemorate its recent introduction to the U.K. market, Isuzu is offering a variety of accessories to add style and function to this pickup workhorse. First off is a stainless steel "style bar" that exists mainly to add some stylistic flair to the exterior, but can also double as a tie-down point for loose cargo. For longer items, a roof bar rack is available that offers a 143-pound load capacity.

If you want to keep your cargo hidden from prying eyes, a soft black vinyl tonneau is available, as is a sliding sectional aluminum tonneau called the "armadillo" roller cover. Accessory wheels are offered in 16-, 17-, and 18-inch sizes in a 10-spoke design.

Finally, on the inside, the D-Max can be outfitted with a backup camera, and two-tone heavy-duty vinyl seat covers to protect the upholstery from everyday wear and tear.
