Video Find: Hennessey's Supercharged Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
The Company's HPE650 SRT8 6.4L Upgrade Makes the Hi-Po Jeep Hit 60 in 3.9 Seconds
We always love the sound of a supercharged Hemi, and this video gives you the chance to hear the guys at Hennessey drive their 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 at the track. The Jeep has been modified with the company's HPE650 Supercharged upgrade for the 6.4-liter. The stock engine puts out 470 hp and, according to Jeep's numbers, hits 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and completes the quarter mile in the mid-13s. Adding the Supercharged HPE650 upgrade -- which comes with a Roots-type supercharger, long-tube headers, ported cylinder heads, air induction, and high-flow catalytic converters -- makes the horsepower number go up, while the 0-60 time goes down. According to Hennessey, when they dyno'ed the modded SRT8, it put out 530 hp at the wheels. Then, at the track, the Jeep reached 60 mph in 3.9 seconds from a stop, and ran the quarter in 12.6 seconds at 109.6 mph. The numbers sound good, but to get the full experience, you need to watch the video.
